Cardiac Telemetry Nurse
Position Overview
Provide direct nursing care on a cardiac telemetry unit serving patients with diverse cardiac needs, including postoperative care. You'll implement and monitor patient care plans, assess patient conditions, coordinate care across disciplines, and execute physician and nursing orders. Act as a key care coordinator while working with minimal supervision in a dynamic clinical environment.
Shift & Schedule
- 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 36–48 guaranteed hours per week
- 13-week contract
- Up to 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period; holidays as needed
Unit Details
Work on a cardiac telemetry unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4–6. You'll be supported by Patient Care Technicians, a unit coordinator, virtual sitter monitoring, and telemetry technicians. Float assignments to cardiac telemetry and medical-surgical departments required.
Requirements
- Current RN license; Nursys verification required
- Strong critical thinking and decisive judgment
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Standard Precautions and PPE compliance
Onboarding
You'll complete facility-specific exams including pharmacology, specialty, EKG, and core competencies assessments. Health screening, immunizations, background check, and drug screening also required.
