Labor & Delivery RN – Night Shift
Position Overview
Join the labor and delivery team for a 20-week night shift assignment beginning November 16, 2026. This role is open to first-time travelers and requires a minimum of 3 years of L&D experience.
Schedule
- Night shift: 3x12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- 4 weekend shifts per month (Friday or Saturday nights)
- Voluntary on-call; may be placed on-call if not needed for scheduled shift
- Must be willing to float to other perinatal areas as needed
- Most holidays must be worked; one holiday RTO may be requested (not guaranteed)
- No time off during the first two weeks of your assignment
Clinical Scope
You'll work across a comprehensive perinatal unit providing care for low and high-risk labor and delivery patients, neonates, adolescents, and adults. Your responsibilities include:
- External fetal monitoring and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Circulating for cesarean sections
- Collaborating with 24 OB hospitalists and anesthesia providers
- Supporting NICU and postpartum care areas
Required Qualifications
- Active California RN license
- Minimum 3 years L&D experience
- AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced certifications
- Advanced EKG exam (80% passing score required; two attempts permitted)
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
- Smoke/nicotine-free facility requirement
