Medical-Surgical Travel Nurse — Greensburg, PA

This 17-week contract places you on a busy Medical-Surgical unit managing a diverse patient population that includes adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. The unit operates as a non-monitored medical floor with a clinical focus on post-operative care and complex medical diagnoses.

Shift & Schedule

• Rotating 3×12-hour shifts (days: 07:00–19:30 / nights: 19:00–07:30); straight nights may be considered
• 4 weekend shifts per contract; every other holiday required
• 12 hours of on-site orientation

Clinical Scope

The unit manages post-op joint replacement, post-op bariatric and general surgery patients, along with medical diagnoses including renal failure, bowel obstruction, dysrhythmias, and substance withdrawal. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response.

Required Skills Include

• PICC and central line management, peripheral nerve block catheters, chest tube care
• Tracheostomy care, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula
• Peritoneal dialysis/CAPD, pre/post hemodialysis management
• Wound care/wound vac, colostomy/ileostomy care, continuous bladder irrigation
• PCA, heparin, insulin, and blood product administration

Requirements

• Active Pennsylvania or Compact RN license
• Minimum 1 year of Med-Surg experience
• AHA BLS (current at submission)
• Willingness to float within the facility and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius
• Two supervisor references preferred
• Local candidates accepted at the travel rate
