Physical Therapist – Acute Care
Position Overview
The facility seeks a Physical Therapist for its acute care rehabilitation department. You'll evaluate patients, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and oversee physical therapy assistants and support staff. This is a fast-paced role requiring strong clinical judgment and the ability to work independently within scope.
Shift & Schedule
- Days: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
- Weekends: Minimum 2 days per month (additional shifts available)
- Contract: 90 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 40/week
Clinical Scope
You'll treat patients across multiple acuity levels and diagnoses, including neurological, orthopedic, cardiovascular, oncological, and general medical conditions. Work spans all inpatient units within the facility. You'll collaborate daily with an interdisciplinary team and engage in real-time documentation and point-of-service care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments
- Establish, revise, and evaluate plans of care with patient/family involvement
- Deliver evidence-based physical therapy interventions
- Supervise physical therapy assistants, students, and support personnel
- Follow Standard Precautions and infection control protocols
Requirements
- Current Physical Therapist license (state-specific)
- Valid Driver's License
- Immunizations: MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap
- 2-Step PPD or IGRA
- EPLS (or ability to obtain)
- Background check and drug screening
- Professional references and education verification
