Operating Room – Night Shift

Position Overview

Join the operating room team for a 13-week night shift contract. You'll work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with every other Thursday (18:45 – 07:15). This role welcomes first-time travelers and requires a minimum of 2 years of OR experience.

Clinical Scope

The OR manages a broad surgical volume across specialties including general surgery, pediatric general surgery, trauma, orthopedic, vascular, gynecologic, urologic, and minimally invasive procedures. You'll scrub cases ranging from routine cholecystectomies and hernia repairs to complex trauma surgeries, spinal fusions, and robotic-assisted procedures. Patient populations include neonates through geriatric patients.

Requirements

• 2+ years of OR experience (General OR, Pediatric General OR, and Trauma required)
• Current RN or LPN license
• AHA BLS certification required; ACLS and CNOR preferred
• Must live within 100 miles of the facility
• Drug test completion required 12–14 calendar days before start
• Facial hair must be trimmed or removed per CDC fit-testing guidelines

What to Expect

• Comprehensive orientation begins Sunday with online modules and 16 hours of nonbillable orientation
• The facility reserves the right to call off one shift biweekly without penalty if census decreases
• Additional shifts picked up above your commitment are available as overtime
• You'll actively support clinical education for nursing students alongside your clinical duties
• Strong interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response
