Emergency Department RN — Plano, TX

This is a 13-week travel contract in a fast-paced Emergency Department managing a high-acuity, diverse patient population. The unit handles certified chest pain cases, comprehensive stroke, accredited burn care, and full trauma services.

Shift & Schedule

• Days: 07:00–19:00
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 4 weekend shifts per month
• Self-scheduling available

Clinical Scope

The ED team includes RNs, advanced paramedics, EMTs, and unit secretarial support. Patient ratios vary based on acuity and census volume, with a dedicated charge nurse always present. The unit is equipped with standard emergency and trauma equipment and manages a broad range of emergent and urgent presentations across trauma, burn, stroke, and psychiatric populations.

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Texas RN license or compact license eligible
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
• SAMA, CPI, or equivalent (30-day grace period available if not currently held)

• Dress code: Royal blue scrubs (branded preferred)
• No floating required; cross-training at a sister facility is possible
