Oncology Infusion Nurse – New York City

Position Overview

The facility seeks an experienced Oncology Infusion Nurse for a 13-week contract in New York City. This role focuses on chemotherapy and biotherapy administration in an outpatient infusion setting, with a Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer IV medications, chemotherapy, biologics, and fluid therapies per physician orders
• Assess patients before, during, and after infusion; monitor for adverse reactions and complications
• Initiate and manage vascular access, including peripheral IVs, PICC lines, and implanted ports
• Educate patients and families on infusion therapy, side effects, and home care management
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and the interdisciplinary team on treatment plans
• Maintain accurate documentation and monitor lab values and treatment tolerance

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN license
• AHA BLS certification
• Current ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy & Immunotherapy Certification
• Current Oncology Nurse Certification
• Minimum 2 years of medical–surgical or chemotherapy infusion experience
• Strong IV insertion and vascular assessment skills
• Preceptor experience required

Preferred Education

• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
