Cardiovascular Operating Room Surgical Technologist

Position Overview

The facility seeks an experienced Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Surgical Technologist to join a nationally-recognized cardiovascular and thoracic program. This is a high-acuity role in a fast-paced, complex surgical environment serving diverse patient populations requiring advanced technical expertise.

Shift & Schedule

  • 4 x 10-hour shifts; day and evening hours (variable)
  • 13-week contract
  • Mandatory call/standby: 30-minute response time
  • Call requirements include weeknights, weekends, and holidays
  • 40 guaranteed hours per week

Clinical Scope

You'll scrub in approximately 20 cases daily across 12 operating suites. Common procedures include CABG, valve replacements (MVR, AVR), kidney transplant, robotic cases, peripheral vascular, thoracic, aortic repair, vascular access, hybrid procedures (TEVAR/EVAR, TAVR), Impella, IABP, and ECMO. You'll work with approximately 25 surgeons representing varied surgical approaches—flexibility and strong foundational OR knowledge are essential.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of cardiovascular scrub experience
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA
  • BLS Certification
  • Ability to manage bypass cases
  • No floating; dedicated to CVOR
