Emergency Department RN – Travel Assignment

Position Overview

Join an emergency department team providing care across a multi-facility zone in Kansas. You'll work 12-hour night shifts in a fast-paced acute care setting treating a diverse patient population with varying acuity levels.

Clinical Scope

The ED manages patients presenting with trauma, STEMI, stroke, abdominal pain, ia, sepsis, and other acute medical and surgical conditions. You'll assess and treat patients across a spectrum of acuities, read and interpret your own telemetry (no monitor technician on staff), and perform point-of-care lab testing. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7 for support with ventilators, CPAP, BiPap, and high-flow oxygen.

Shift & Scheduling

  • 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • Every other weekend
  • 36 guaranteed hours per week
  • Staff-based scheduling; leadership assigns shifts based on unit needs

Floating Requirement

This is a floating role. You will work across multiple emergency departments within a 60-mile radius. Your assignment location will be confirmed on or before your start date and may vary by schedule. You are responsible for securing housing that supports floating throughout the entire zone.

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • ACLS, BLS (AHA)
  • PALS or ENPC
  • NIHSS, TNCC
  • Current RN license (must be verified before start)

Contract Terms

  • 13 weeks
  • Orientation: 2–3 days on unit; plan to be in state for the orientation week
  • Maximum 3 missed shifts during contract
  • 2-week notice required to avoid back-out penalty
