About the Unit

The facility's orthopedic/medical unit manages post-surgical and acute orthopedic patients, including spine cases. You'll provide care for patients recovering from orthopedic procedures and managing pain with epidurals and PCAs. The unit uses telemetry monitoring and standard acute care equipment.

Staffing & Patient Ratios

Night shift typically includes 2 charge nurses, 2–5 RNs, and 2–3 patient care technicians. Patient ratios are 4:1 for spine cases and 5:1 for general orthopedic patients.

Clinical Scope

Typical duties include central line care, blood transfusions, foley/straight catheterization, and pain management. You'll work as part of a collaborative, team-oriented unit.

Requirements

• Active RN license
• BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of current acute care orthopedic experience required
• Prior orthopedic or med/surg experience preferred
