Emergency Department Nurse – Night Shift
Location: Pasadena, TX
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Start Date: September 7, 2026
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
About the Role
The facility's Emergency Department is a high-volume, 24-hour unit treating a broad range of emergent and urgent conditions. You'll work the night shift in a fast-paced environment where quick assessment, critical thinking, and strong teamwork are essential.
Typical Responsibilities
- and assess incoming patients; prioritize care based on acuity
- Provide rapid nursing interventions including IV starts, blood draws, moderate sedations, and splinting
- Monitor cardiac status and respond to codes and trauma activations
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team on patient care plans
- Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the medical record
- Support efficient patient flow in a high-volume setting
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (state or compact)
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, and CPI certifications
- 1+ years of Emergency Department experience
- Experience in high-acuity, fast-paced environments
Preferred Qualifications
- ENPC or NRP certification
- BSN
Additional Information
- May float to other Emergency Department locations as needed
- Weekends as needed or every other week (your preference)
- No on-call requirement
- Royal Blue scrubs, closed-toed shoes required
