Medical-Surgical Nursing

About the Role

The facility is seeking a registered nurse for its Medical-Surgical unit to provide comprehensive care to adult patients with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions. You'll assess and monitor patient status, administer medications and treatments, and manage pre- and post-operative care including wound management and pain control.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to a typical caseload of 4–6 patients per shift
• Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
• Manage care for patients with chronic and acute diagnoses (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory, and others)
• Coordinate discharge planning and patient/family education
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and interdisciplinary team on care plans
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention standards

Requirements

• Active RN license in the state of practice (or compact license as applicable)
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• 1+ years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
• CMSRN (Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse) preferred
• Ability to manage diverse patient populations and acuity levels

Immunizations (COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap); TB screening; physical/health statement; background check; drug screen; and specialty-specific competency testing.
