Emergency Department RN – 7 PM–7 AM, 36 Hours/Week
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN to join a high-acuity ED team. You will work the night shift (7 PM–7 AM) on an every-other-week rotation, with guaranteed 36 hours per week. This is a 13-week contract.
Key Responsibilities
- and assess incoming patients to determine acuity and prioritize care
- Provide rapid, comprehensive nursing care across a wide range of emergent and urgent conditions
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per physician orders and protocols
- Respond to trauma activations, codes, and rapid deterioration with appropriate emergency interventions
- Manage patients awaiting admission, transfer, or discharge
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary team members on plan of care
- Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient response accurately
- Maintain patient flow and throughput in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Follow infection control, safety, and de-escalation protocols
Requirements
- Active RN license (state or compact)
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required
- 1+ years of ER experience required
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) and CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) preferred
- Experience with protocols and high-acuity, fast-paced environments
Note: This role includes flexibility to cover both ED and inpatient hold acuity levels as needed.
