Cardiac Telemetry RN – Night Shift

Location: Stockbridge, GA

Shift: Night (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 3×12-hour per week

Contract Duration: 20 weeks

Start Date: September 14, 2026

About the Role

The facility's overflow intermediate care unit (IMCU) is seeking an experienced Cardiac Telemetry RN for night shifts. You'll provide continuous monitoring and skilled nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with complex cardiac conditions, arrhythmias, and related medical/surgical diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide continuous cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation; identify and escalate arrhythmias
  • Manage cardiac drips (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, Nitroglycerin) and other vasoactive medications
  • Administer diuretics, anticoagulants, and insulin drips per protocol
  • Assess and respond promptly to changes in cardiac status
  • Care for post-cardiac catheterization patients, including TR Band management
  • Manage chest tubes, central lines, and other surgical drains as needed
  • Collaborate with respiratory, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record

Patient Population & Acuity

You'll care for patients with cardiac CHF, chest pain, arrhythmias (stable A-Fib, SVT, bradycardia), post-PCI status, PE/DVT, renal and pulmonary conditions (COPD, pulmonary edema), and occasional overflow surgical or neuro patients. Patient ratio: 1:5–6.

Required Qualifications

  • RN license (Georgia or Compact license)
  • Minimum 2 years cardiac telemetry experience; prior travel experience required
  • BLS and ACLS certification
  • Proven experience with cardiac drips, vasoactive medications, and arrhythmia management
  • Telemetry competency exam required

Additional Details

  • Navy blue scrubs
  • Float to like units within scope of practice
  • Typically every-other-weekend; perm staff scheduled first
  • Call is rare (2-hour response time); travelers do not manage Precedex
  • Maximum 7 days RTO per contract
  • All RTO finalized at time of submission; no requests during orientation week
  • Holiday work expected per assignment overlap (details provided upon offer)
