Ultrasound/Echo Technologist

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Ultrasound/Echo Technologist for a 26-week travel contract. This is a multispecialty role that will require you to perform across the full spectrum of ultrasound and echocardiography services.

Schedule & Call Requirements

  • Shift: Day shift, 4 × 10-hour days (07:00–17:30)
  • On-Call: Yes — 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. Monday–Friday, and 24 hours Saturday–Sunday
  • Weekends: Required
  • Start Date: September 8, 2026
  • Contract Duration: 26 weeks

Clinical Scope

You will perform a wide range of ultrasound studies, including:

  • General and abdominal ultrasound
  • Obstetric ultrasound (first, second, and third trimester)
  • Fetal anatomy surveys
  • Breast and thyroid imaging
  • Vascular duplex studies (carotid, renal, extremity arterial and venous)
  • Transvaginal ultrasound
  • Adult echocardiography, contrast echocardiography, and echo stress testing
  • Ultrasound-guided procedures (biopsies, fine-needle aspiration, paracentesis)
  • Pediatric and neonatal imaging

Patient populations span neonates through geriatrics.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of sonography experience
  • Current BLS certification
  • ARDMS, ARDMS VT, CCI, or RDCS credential
  • Compact license required at submission
  • At least 1 year of experience covering general ultrasound, fetal, OB, breast, transvaginal, vascular, and echo studies

Additional Information

  • You may be expected to float between nearby facilities as needed
  • Must commit to working 3 of 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • Two professional references required (covering last 3 years)
  • Candidates with prior Providence facility experience (permanent, travel, or per-diem) should disclose location and dates
