ICU Travel RN — Overland Park, KS

Day Shift | 13-Week Contract | Start: September 21, 2026

This ICU opportunity places you in a collaborative critical care unit managing high-acuity patients, including post-open-heart surgery recovery, neuro, and trauma cases. The unit is staffed with charge nurses and unit secretaries (available 7a–11p), and operates in a self-scheduling environment.

Shift & Schedule

• 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Every third weekend required
• 36 guaranteed hours per week

Clinical Scope

The unit performs and manages:

• Open heart recovery
• Bedside cardioversions and bronchoscopies
• CRRT and Impella support
• Vasoactive and sedation drip titration
• Arterial lines, central lines, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Rapid response and code interventions

Travel nurses float to telemetry to assume patient assignments; float to other areas is in a helper/resource capacity only.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (or applicable compact license)
• BLS and ACLS required
• Minimum 1 year of ICU/critical care experience
• Strong communication skills and adaptability
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted

Preferred Qualifications

• CCRN certification
• Neuro and/or trauma experience
