ICU Registered Nurse — Nights

Location: Overland Park, KS

Shift: 19:00–07:00 (nights), 4 x 12-hour shifts per week

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours/week

About the Role

The facility's ICU is seeking experienced critical care nurses to join a collaborative team caring for high-acuity patients. You'll provide direct, comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients requiring intensive monitoring and advanced life support.

Clinical Scope

You'll manage patients recovering from open-heart surgery, perform bedside procedures including cardioversions and bronchoscopies, and support CRRT and Impella therapies. Responsibilities include:

  • Assess and respond rapidly to changes in patient condition
  • Manage advanced equipment: ventilators, arterial and central lines, hemodynamic monitors
  • Administer titratable vasoactive and sedation drips
  • Collaborate with intensivists and interdisciplinary teams
  • Perform code and rapid response interventions
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans
  • Maintain detailed, accurate documentation

Patient Ratios: 1:2 depending on acuity

Scrubs: Royal blue

Requirements

  • Active RN license (state or compact)
  • BLS and ACLS certification required
  • Minimum 1+ years ICU/critical care experience
  • Strong communication, adaptability, and critical thinking skills
  • Experience with ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, and titratable drips
  • Neuro and trauma experience a plus
  • CCRN certification preferred
  • BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy

Scheduling: Self-scheduling with every 3rd weekend required. Float expectations: to telemetry units with patients, or as helper/resource to other areas as needed.
