Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse

13-week assignment | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM shifts | 36 hours scheduled, 24 hours guaranteed per week | Greeley, CO
About the Role
The facility's Labor & Delivery unit seeks experienced RNs to provide comprehensive care for laboring patients, high-risk obstetric cases, and postpartum families. You'll work in a dynamic environment managing the full spectrum of labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum care.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor maternal and fetal status using continuous fetal heart rate monitoring and assessment of uterine contractions
- Manage high-risk OB conditions including preeclampsia, hemorrhage, and fetal distress
- Assist with vaginal deliveries and provide OR circulating support for cesarean sections
- Administer labor induction/augmentation medications and support epidural anesthesia
- Provide immediate newborn resuscitation and care
- Support couplet care (mother and baby) during the postpartum period
- Educate patients and families on labor progression and pain management options
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, anesthesia, and NICU teams
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in Colorado (or compact license)
- Minimum 24 months of recent L&D experience (within the last 12 months)
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications (AHA, ARC, or ASHI)
- Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM) certification required
- Current CPR/BLS certification
Additional Requirements
- Multi-skilled capacity preferred (, OR circulating, newborn admit/delivery support)
- Subject to weekend, holiday, and on-call duties per department guidelines
- Potential float to regional facilities as needed
- Return-to-office date (RTO) cannot exceed 7 days; no RTO during the first week
