Oncology Nurse – Outpatient Infusion

Location: Atlanta, GA

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM (40 guaranteed hours/week)

Contract: 16 weeks

About the Role

You'll join a busy outpatient oncology practice delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients receiving cancer treatment. This role combines patient assessment, treatment administration, and education in a fast-paced infusion setting.

Your Responsibilities

  • Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and biotherapy per physician orders and safety protocols
  • Perform pre-, during, and post-treatment assessments, monitoring for adverse reactions and side effects
  • Manage vascular access: peripheral IVs, PICC lines, and implanted ports
  • Address treatment-related symptoms (nausea, pain, fatigue, neutropenia)
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans and self-care strategies
  • Provide emotional support throughout the cancer care journey
  • Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, and the interdisciplinary team
  • Document assessments, treatments, and patient responses accurately
  • Follow safe handling protocols for hazardous drugs per OSHA/USP <800> guidelines

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license (state or compact)
  • BLS certification
  • Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification (ONS)
  • Minimum 1+ year of recent oncology nursing experience
  • Strong IV access and vascular assessment skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • BSN degree
  • ACLS certification
  • OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification

Holiday Requirements

Must work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day) and 1 minor holiday.
