MRI Technologist – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility's MRI department is seeking an experienced MRI technologist to join the night team. You'll perform diagnostic MRI studies on inpatient and outpatient populations, working independently in a busy department while maintaining the highest standards of image quality and patient safety.

Schedule & Duration

  • 12-hour nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Friday, Saturday, Sunday (rotating)
  • 36 guaranteed hours per week
  • 16-week contract
  • Holiday requirements: Must work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day) plus 1 minor holiday

Requirements

  • ARRT certification in MRI (ARRT-MR) required
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent MRI experience
  • State radiologic technology license (as applicable)
  • IV certification/venipuncture skills preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform MRI exams per physician protocol; select appropriate sequences for diagnostic quality
  • Screen patients and staff for safety contraindications (implants, metal, devices, pregnancy)
  • Administer contrast media and monitor for reactions
  • Position patients and operate equipment to optimize imaging
  • Maintain strict MRI safety zone adherence
  • Document exams accurately in imaging systems
  • Collaborate with radiologists on protocol adjustments and findings
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues
