Progressive Care / IMC Float Pool — Colorado Springs Area, CO

13-Week Contract | Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

This float pool position covers PCU/IMC units across multiple facilities within a 60-mile radius of Colorado Springs, CO. Travelers must be prepared to work at any facility within the zone and are responsible for securing housing that makes the full radius feasible. There is no home-base facility.

Scheduling & Float Details

  • 12-hour day shifts; 36 guaranteed hours per week
  • Schedules released 4–6 weeks in advance by leadership
  • Some shifts may be assigned 1–2 hours before start (Just-In-Time)
  • 6–9 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
  • Holiday rotation possible
  • May float across acuity levels: PCU/IMC, MS-Tele, and low-acuity ICU holds
  • Low-census call is rare

Clinical Scope

The float pool serves adult and geriatric patients across cardiac, neuro, oncology, renal/urology, orthopedic, bariatric, trauma, ED observation, post-surgical, and general medicine specialties. RNs must be comfortable titrating and managing cardiac drips, including dopamine, dobutamine, cardizem, amiodarone, heparin, insulin, and Ativan.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years PCU/IMC experience
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certification required
  • Must have experience managing cardiac drips, insulin, and Ativan
  • Prior neuro experience preferred
  • Colorado RN license required prior to start
  • Must be in state for the week of orientation
  • 2-week notice required; no more than 3 unexcused shifts missed per contract
