ICU Registered Nurse – 12-Hour Day Shift
Location: Atlanta, GA
Contract Duration: 16 weeks
Schedule: 12-hour days, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 36 weekly
About the Role
The facility's General Medical Surgical ICU is seeking an experienced RN to provide direct care to critically ill patients. You'll manage high-acuity cases requiring intensive monitoring, advanced life support equipment, and rapid intervention. This role demands clinical judgment, strong communication, and the ability to work collaboratively with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor, and respond to rapid changes in patient condition
- Manage ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, and hemodynamic monitoring equipment
- Administer titratable vasoactive and sedation drips per physician orders
- Perform rapid response and code interventions as needed
- Collaborate on plan of care with intensivists and care team
- Educate patients and families on treatment and progress
- Document assessments and interventions accurately in the EMR
- Maintain infection control and safety protocols
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (state or compact)
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Minimum 2 years recent ICU/critical care experience
- Experience with ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, and titratable drips
Preferred Qualifications
- CCRN certification
- NIHSS certification
- BSN degree
Holiday Requirements
You must work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day) and 1 minor holiday (day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve).
