About the Unit

This telemetry unit manages cardiac and acute medical patients requiring continuous monitoring. The unit operates with a collaborative team including charge nurses, bedside RNs, and CNAs across both day and night shifts. The ideal candidate is outgoing, takes initiative, and works well in a team-oriented environment.

Clinical Scope

• Continuous cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation, including arrhythmia identification and escalation
• Administration of cardiac drips, antiarrhythmics, and other cardiac medications
• IV and Foley catheter placement; chest tube removal
• Care for post-operative and acute cardiac patients, including post-CABG experience (preferred)
• Rapid response and code blue participation
• Patient and family education on cardiac conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions

Requirements

• Active RN license (state or applicable compact)
• BSN preferred; ADN considered
• BLS and ACLS required
• Minimum 1 year of current acute care telemetry/cardiac nursing experience
• Demonstrated EKG interpretation competency
• Experience managing cardiac medications and monitoring rhythms

Preferred Qualifications

• Post-op CABG patient care experience
