Emergency Department RN – Rochester, NY

Position Overview

The facility's Emergency Department is seeking experienced RNs for a 16-week contract. This is a high-acuity ED serving a broad spectrum of emergent and urgent conditions, with specialized expertise in geriatric emergency care. You'll work nights in a collaborative, supportive environment with strong clinical leadership and a focus on quality patient outcomes.

Shift & Schedule

• 3 x 12-hour rotating nights: 3P–3A and 7P–7A rotation
• 36 hours per week
• One weekend shift per contracted week (or two weekend shifts every other weekend)
• At least one holiday per contract
• Blocked scheduling available (Thurs/Fri/Sat, Fri/Sat/Sun, or Sat/Sun/Mon blocks can be requested)
• On-call optional but recommended: 2 hours/week average, available in 4–16 hour blocks between 7P–7A

Requirements

• Active NY RN license
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required
• Minimum 2 years recent ER experience
• TNCC and CEN preferred
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

Key Responsibilities

• and assess patients; prioritize care based on acuity
• Deliver rapid, comprehensive nursing care across trauma, codes, and complex presentations
• Administer medications and interventions per physician orders
• Respond to rapid deterioration and emergency activations
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
• Educate patients and families on discharge and follow-up care
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure patient safety protocols
