Registered Nurse – Med Surg Telemetry | Night Shift
Shift & Schedule
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour)
- 36 or 48 hours per week available
- 1 weekend shift per week or 2 weekend shifts every other weekend
- Must work a minimum of 1 holiday during contract
- 16-week contract
The Role
You'll provide comprehensive care to adult patients with medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions on a med surg telemetry unit. Your responsibilities include:
- Continuous cardiac rhythm and vital sign monitoring with rapid response to changes
- Medication and treatment administration, including cardiac drips as ordered
- Pre- and post-operative patient care with wound and pain management
- Management of patients with chronic conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory)
- Collaboration with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and the interdisciplinary team on care coordination and discharge planning
- Patient and family education on conditions, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
- Accurate EMR documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses
- Typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift (varies by acuity)
- Infection control and fall prevention protocol adherence
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in New York
- AHA BLS certification required
- 1+ years of recent med surg/telemetry experience (2+ years for non-U.S. candidates)
- Telemetry and EKG interpretation competency
- ACLS certification required
Additional Requirements
- Flexibility to float to other units as needed
- Willingness to work charge
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Residency established in the U.S. required for travel assignment
