Registered Nurse – Med Surg Telemetry | Night Shift

Shift & Schedule

  • Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour)
  • 36 or 48 hours per week available
  • 1 weekend shift per week or 2 weekend shifts every other weekend
  • Must work a minimum of 1 holiday during contract
  • 16-week contract

The Role

You'll provide comprehensive care to adult patients with medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions on a med surg telemetry unit. Your responsibilities include:

  • Continuous cardiac rhythm and vital sign monitoring with rapid response to changes
  • Medication and treatment administration, including cardiac drips as ordered
  • Pre- and post-operative patient care with wound and pain management
  • Management of patients with chronic conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory)
  • Collaboration with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and the interdisciplinary team on care coordination and discharge planning
  • Patient and family education on conditions, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
  • Accurate EMR documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses
  • Typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift (varies by acuity)
  • Infection control and fall prevention protocol adherence

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license in New York
  • AHA BLS certification required
  • 1+ years of recent med surg/telemetry experience (2+ years for non-U.S. candidates)
  • Telemetry and EKG interpretation competency
  • ACLS certification required

Additional Requirements

  • Flexibility to float to other units as needed
  • Willingness to work charge
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
  • Residency established in the U.S. required for travel assignment
