Nuclear Medicine Technologist – 13-Week Contract
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join its imaging department. This is a 13-week temporary assignment performing general nuclear medicine and PET/CT procedures.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (40 hours/week)
- On-call: One weekday evening per week (4:30 PM–10:00 PM) and one weekend per month (Saturday or Sunday, 7:00 AM–10:00 PM)
- Low callback frequency; only emergency studies (HIDA, GI bleed, brain death, lung scans) trigger callbacks
- Grey scrubs required
Requirements
- NMTCB or ARRT (N) certification required
- State radiologic/nuclear medicine license (as applicable)
- BLS certification required
- 3–5+ years of nuclear medicine experience
- Proficiency in both general nuclear medicine and PET/CT imaging
- Knowledge of radiopharmaceutical handling and radiation safety protocols
Clinical Scope
You'll perform 10+ general nuclear medicine studies and 12–14 PET/CT exams daily, including:
- Bone scans, lung scans, gastric emptying, renal scans, HIDA scans
- Thyroid uptake and imaging, DaTscan (brain), lymphoscintigraphy, parathyroid scans
- FDG PET and specialty PET studies
Duties include radiopharmaceutical preparation and administration, imaging acquisition, equipment operation, dosage verification, patient monitoring, quality control, documentation, and collaboration with radiologists.
