Operating Room Nurse – Spine & Joint Surgery
Location: Lone Tree, CO
Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:45 AM – 4:45 PM (36 guaranteed hours/week)
Weekends and holidays: On-call only (5:00 PM – 11:00 PM, 30-minute response time required)
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
About the Role
The facility's Spine and Joint Surgery Center is seeking an experienced OR nurse to support a high-volume surgical program. You'll work in a dedicated orthopedic operating room environment performing spine fusions, anterior lumbar interbody fusions (ALIFs), total joint replacements, and hip preservation procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide circulating and/or scrub nursing in a specialty OR focused on spine and orthopedic procedures
- Maintain sterile technique, manage instruments and equipment, and perform accurate counts
- Prepare patients pre-operatively; monitor safety and patient status throughout surgery
- Document intraoperative care accurately in the EMR
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and the surgical team to ensure smooth case flow
- Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and post-operative handoff
Requirements
- Current RN license (state or compact)
- Minimum 1 year of hospital OR experience required
- Spine and joint surgery experience required
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Ability to function in both circulating and scrub roles
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
Preferred Qualifications
- Joint scrub experience
- Prior EMR experience
