Travel RN – Cardiac Catheterization Lab

Location: Thornton, CO

Shift: 6:45 AM – 4:15 PM

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Schedule: Day shift with 1–2 on-call shifts per week and call coverage approximately every third weekend (Friday–Sunday)

About the Role

The facility's cardiac catheterization lab is seeking an experienced RN to join a high-functioning, engaged clinical team. You'll provide direct patient care and monitoring in a procedurally intensive environment performing left and right heart catheterizations, PCI/stent placements, peripheral interventions, pacemaker and ICD implants, cardioversions, TEEs, and stress testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor hemodynamic status and vital signs throughout procedures; alert the team to acute changes
  • Administer medications, sedation, and contrast media per protocol
  • Assist physicians during procedures in both circulating and monitoring roles
  • Manage vascular access sites and perform hemostasis per protocol
  • Prepare and educate patients pre-procedure; provide post-procedure recovery and discharge care
  • Respond to emergent complications with appropriate critical interventions
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient response accurately in the medical record
  • Collaborate with cardiologists, cath lab technicians, and the interdisciplinary team

Requirements

  • Active RN license (state or compact)
  • Minimum 1 year of acute care cardiac cath lab experience required
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
  • BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
  • Ability to respond to on-call emergencies and weekend call coverage
  • Must be able to respond to the facility within 30 minutes
