Travel RN – Cardiac Catheterization Lab
Location: Thornton, CO
Shift: 6:45 AM – 4:15 PM
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Schedule: Day shift with 1–2 on-call shifts per week and call coverage approximately every third weekend (Friday–Sunday)
About the Role
The facility's cardiac catheterization lab is seeking an experienced RN to join a high-functioning, engaged clinical team. You'll provide direct patient care and monitoring in a procedurally intensive environment performing left and right heart catheterizations, PCI/stent placements, peripheral interventions, pacemaker and ICD implants, cardioversions, TEEs, and stress testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor hemodynamic status and vital signs throughout procedures; alert the team to acute changes
- Administer medications, sedation, and contrast media per protocol
- Assist physicians during procedures in both circulating and monitoring roles
- Manage vascular access sites and perform hemostasis per protocol
- Prepare and educate patients pre-procedure; provide post-procedure recovery and discharge care
- Respond to emergent complications with appropriate critical interventions
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient response accurately in the medical record
- Collaborate with cardiologists, cath lab technicians, and the interdisciplinary team
Requirements
- Active RN license (state or compact)
- Minimum 1 year of acute care cardiac cath lab experience required
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
- Ability to respond to on-call emergencies and weekend call coverage
- Must be able to respond to the facility within 30 minutes
