Operating Room RN – Travel Assignment

Location: Denver, CO

Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week

About the Role

The facility's operating room is seeking experienced OR nurses for a seasonal travel assignment. You'll provide circulating and scrub support across a broad surgical service including orthopedic, spine, general surgery, cardiovascular, plastics, gynecology, urology, and robotic-assisted procedures. This is a fast-paced, collaborative environment where flexibility and strong teamwork are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Circulate and/or scrub cases across multiple surgical specialties
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields, instruments, and equipment
• Perform accurate counts (instruments, sponges, needles) before, during, and after procedures
• Conduct pre-operative assessments and verify surgical site, consent, and procedures per protocol
• Monitor patient safety and status throughout cases
• Manage supplies and equipment availability
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and the surgical team to ensure smooth case flow
• Document intraoperative care accurately in the electronic health record

Requirements

• Active RN license (state or compact)
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 1 year of current hospital acute care OR experience
• Ability to function in both circulating and scrub roles
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy

Preferred Skills

• Orthopedic/spine surgery experience
• Cardiovascular surgery experience
