Progressive Care Unit (PCU) | Travel RN

Dallas, TX | Night Shift | 13-Week Contract

This night shift PCU role offers a collaborative, team-oriented environment caring for moderate-to-high acuity patients who require closer monitoring than a standard Med-Surg floor but do not need ICU-level intervention.

Shift & Schedule

• 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Start date: August 18, 2026

Clinical Scope

• Continuous cardiac rhythm and vital sign monitoring with telemetry
• Management of patients transitioning from ICU or at risk for clinical deterioration
• Administration of medications including select IV drips
• Rapid response and code participation as needed
• Patient and family education on condition, treatment plan, and recovery
• Collaboration with physicians, intensivists, and an interdisciplinary care team

Float Requirements

• Floating to other PCU units and telemetry floors is required

Requirements

• Active RN license (state or applicable compact)
• BLS and ACLS required
• PCCN preferred
• Minimum 1 year of PCU or step-down experience
• Telemetry monitoring experience required
• BSN preferred; ADN considered per facility policy
• No on-call requirement
