Travel RN – Labor & Delivery | Dallas, TX | Night Shift
Contract: 13 weeks | Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (3 x 12-hour nights/week) | Guaranteed Hours: 36 | Start Date: August 18, 2026
This high-risk obstetrical Labor & Delivery unit manages complex maternal-fetal cases, including preeclampsia, hemorrhage, fetal distress, and magnesium sulfate infusions. The unit follows AWHONN staffing ratios and provides care across the full spectrum of L&D, from early labor through postpartum recovery.
Clinical Scope:
- Vaginal deliveries, cesarean section (circulating role), D&C, and postpartum recovery
- Continuous fetal monitoring and interpretation of fetal heart rate and contraction patterns
- Administration of labor induction/augmentation agents and epidural support
- Management of high-risk OB conditions with emergency intervention as needed
- Immediate newborn care and resuscitation support
- Float capability to the antepartum unit within the Women's service line
Schedule & Call:
- Three 12-hour night shifts per week (7p–7a)
- Weekend rotation required; call requirements discussed during interview
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of high-risk Labor & Delivery experience
- Active RN license (state or compact)
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP required
- Intermediate AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification required
- Experience circulating in cesarean sections and recovering high-acuity OB patients
Preferred:
- BSN; ADN considered per facility policy
- AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification
