Postpartum / Mother Baby RN

Location: Englewood, CO

Shift: 7:00 PM – 5:00 AM

Contract: 13 weeks

Guaranteed Hours: 36/week

About the Role

The facility's postpartum unit provides couplet care to mothers and newborns following vaginal or cesarean delivery. You'll care for 3–4 mother-baby pairs per shift, managing both maternal recovery and newborn assessment in a recently remodeled, technology-updated environment.

Your Responsibilities

• Assess maternal recovery: fundal checks, lochia, incision/perineal care, and monitor for hemorrhage or infection
• Perform newborn assessments including vital signs, feeding, and screening tests; monitor for jaundice and complications
• Support breastfeeding education and lactation support
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
• Collaborate with OB physicians, pediatricians, and lactation consultants
• Provide emotional support and family education on discharge care
• Accurate documentation in the EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license (state or compact)
• Minimum 1 year current postpartum or mother baby RN experience (required)
• BLS and NRP certification required
• RNC-MNN certification preferred
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted
• Experience with couplet care and postpartum recovery essential
• Patient-centered, flexible, and positive attitude
