Neuro Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) — Registered Nurse

Boston, MA | 13-Week Contract | Rotating 12-Hour Shifts

This travel RN opportunity is in a Neuro Intermediate Care Unit, caring for a complex neurological patient population. The unit manages intermediate to high-acuity cases including post-operative day-zero neuro patients, acute thrombectomies, TPA administration, and patients requiring arterial lines, external ventricular drains (EVDs), lumbar drains, and vasoactive infusions.

Shift & Schedule

• 3 × 12-hour rotating day/night shifts
• 72 guaranteed hours biweekly
• Every other weekend required
• ASAP start; orientation begins weekly on Mondays (excluding holidays)

Float

May float to the Neuro ICU floor from the Neuro IMCU.

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 3+ years of relevant RN experience required
• Hands-on experience with EVDs, lumbar drains, and arterial lines required
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS required
• NIHSS certification required
• Basic proficiency with web-based applications

Additional Notes

• No local travelers accepted; candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Travelers must not have worked at this facility (permanent or per diem) within the past 6 months
