NICU Registered Nurse
Location: Asheville, NC
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Schedule: Every other weekend
About the Role
The facility's Level III Neonatal ICU is seeking an experienced RN to provide direct care to critically ill and premature neonates. You'll manage high-acuity patients requiring intensive monitoring, mechanical ventilation, CPAP support, umbilical line management, and thermoregulation. Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:4 depending on acuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill and high-risk infants
- Monitor vital signs, assess condition changes, and escalate concerns promptly
- Administer neonatal-specific medications and titratable drips
- Manage advanced life support equipment including ventilators, CPAP, and warmers
- Support developmental care and family-centered practices, including kangaroo care
- Collaborate with neonatologists and interdisciplinary teams on patient plans
- Perform rapid response and resuscitation interventions
- Document assessments and interventions accurately in the EMR
- Maintain infection control and safety protocols
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (state or compact)
- BLS and NRP certification required
- Minimum 2 years of Level III NICU experience preferred
- Experience with ventilator management and isolette/warmer care
- RNC-NIC certification preferred
- Detail-oriented and organized approach to care

- Navy blue scrubs
- Floating available to PICU, Pediatrics, and Mother Baby (infants only)
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
