NICU RN — Night Shift

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (36 guaranteed hours/week)
Contract Duration: 13 weeks

About the Role
The facility's Level III Neonatal ICU cares for critically ill and premature infants requiring intensive monitoring and life support. As a NICU RN, you'll provide direct, comprehensive care to high-risk neonates, manage advanced equipment (ventilators, CPAP, umbilical lines, warmers), and respond quickly to changes in patient condition.
Your responsibilities include:
- Assessing and monitoring neonatal status; escalating care as needed
- Administering medications and titratable drips with precise neonatal dosing
- Managing thermoregulation, feeding, and developmental care
- Performing rapid response and resuscitation interventions
- Supporting families through education and involvement in care (including kangaroo care)
- Collaborating with the neonatology team on plan of care
- Maintaining infection control and safety protocols for immunocompromised infants
- Accurate EMR documentation
Requirements
- Active RN license in North Carolina (or compact license)
- BLS and NRP certification (required)
- RNC-NIC certification (preferred)
- Minimum 1+ years of NICU experience (Level III or higher preferred; 2+ years preferred)
- Experience with ventilator management, high-risk neonates, and isolette/warmer care
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
Schedule & Expectations
- Every other weekend commitment
- Potential float to Pediatrics, PICU, or Mother Baby (babies only)
- Navy blue scrubs
