Emergency Department Nurse – Night Shift
Location: Kingwood, TX
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
About the Role
The facility's emergency department is a fast-paced, high-acuity unit treating a broad range of emergent and urgent conditions. You'll work nights in a team-oriented environment where critical thinking, composure, and collaboration are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- and rapidly assess incoming patients; prioritize care based on acuity
- Provide comprehensive nursing care during resuscitations, trauma activations, and codes
- Perform IV starts, blood draws, EKGs, and other emergency interventions
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and protocols
- Monitor patients awaiting admission, transfer, or discharge
- Work collaboratively with physicians, specialists, and nursing staff
- Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR
- Ensure patient flow and throughput in a high-volume setting
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (state or compact)
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification (required)
- TNCC certification (required)
- 1+ years of emergency department experience
- Experience in protocols and high-acuity environments
- ADN or BSN
Schedule & Expectations
- 4 weekend shifts per month
- No on-call duty
- Patient ratio: 4:1
- Royal blue scrubs
