Emergency Department Nurse – Night Shift

Location: Kingwood, TX

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week

About the Role

The facility's emergency department is a fast-paced, high-acuity unit treating a broad range of emergent and urgent conditions. You'll work nights in a team-oriented environment where critical thinking, composure, and collaboration are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • and rapidly assess incoming patients; prioritize care based on acuity
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care during resuscitations, trauma activations, and codes
  • Perform IV starts, blood draws, EKGs, and other emergency interventions
  • Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and protocols
  • Monitor patients awaiting admission, transfer, or discharge
  • Work collaboratively with physicians, specialists, and nursing staff
  • Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR
  • Ensure patient flow and throughput in a high-volume setting

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license (state or compact)
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification (required)
  • TNCC certification (required)
  • 1+ years of emergency department experience
  • Experience in protocols and high-acuity environments
  • ADN or BSN

Schedule & Expectations

  • 4 weekend shifts per month
  • No on-call duty
  • Patient ratio: 4:1
  • Royal blue scrubs
