House Supervisor – Night Shift

Location: Arcata, CA

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Contract: 13 weeks

Start Date: August 17, 2026

Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced House Supervisor to provide administrative oversight and clinical leadership during the night shift. You'll manage hospital-wide operations, coordinate patient flow and staffing, and serve as the on-site administrative leader in the absence of executive staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee bed placement, patient flow, and staffing coordination across all units
• Respond to and coordinate emergent situations (codes, rapid responses, disasters, security events)
• Facilitate staffing adjustments, float assignments, and call-in coverage across departments
• Support unit managers and charge nurses with escalated clinical and operational issues
• Ensure regulatory compliance and safety standards are maintained hospital-wide
• Communicate facility status and issues to physicians, department leaders, and administration
• Document shift reports, incidents, and administrative actions accurately
• Mentor and support staff across departments

Requirements

• Active RN license in California (or compact license as applicable)
• BSN required; MSN preferred
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• 3–5+ years of clinical nursing experience, including charge nurse or leadership experience
• Strong knowledge of hospital-wide operations, staffing, and emergency protocols
• Experience with bed management and interdepartmental coordination
• Negative TB screening within 12 months of contract start
