Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Med/Surg Telemetry RN for its night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM). This is an 18-week contract in Warrensville Heights, OH.

Shift Details

• Three 12-hour night shifts per week
• 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Ongoing telemetry monitoring required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs; respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, including cardiac drips as applicable
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound care and pain management
• Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and the interdisciplinary team on care planning and discharge coordination
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record
• Ensure infection control and fall prevention protocols are followed
• Typical patient assignment: 4–6 patients per shift (acuity-dependent)

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (Ohio permanent or compact state license in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 18 months permanent Med/Surg Telemetry experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications (active and current)
• EKG/telemetry interpretation competency
• One professional reference (manager, ANM, supervisor, or director) from the past 12 months required
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy

• ECG rhythm recognition test and medication safety assessment during orientation
