Registered Nurse – ICU

Position Overview

Join the facility's multi-specialty Intensive Care Unit as a Registered Nurse. You'll deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care to critically ill patients in a collaborative, supportive environment. This is a 13-week contract position.

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM or 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• Flexible rotating schedule with every-other weekend and every-other holiday off
• Possible float to medical/surgical units as needed
• 36 guaranteed hours per week

Clinical Scope

You'll work with high-acuity patients across multiple ICU specialties, including coronary care, surgical intensive care, medical intensive care, neuro, and cardiothoracic. Your responsibilities include:

• Comprehensive patient assessment, monitoring, and rapid response to condition changes
• Management of advanced life support equipment (ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, hemodynamic monitors)
• Administration of titratable vasoactive and sedation medications
• Telemetry monitoring and rhythm strip interpretation
• Collaboration with physicians, intensivists, and interdisciplinary teams
• Code and rapid response interventions
• Patient and family education
• Accurate EMR documentation

Requirements

• Active RN license (state or compact)
• Minimum 2 years ICU experience in a multi-specialty setting
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Telemetry competency with ability to independently interpret rhythms (test on Day 1)
• BSN preferred; ADN or Diploma accepted
• Strong communication and basic computer skills
• Physical ability to meet job demands
