About the Role
The facility is seeking a Nurse Educator to design, deliver, and evaluate nursing education programs. You'll support staff development across the organization, from new graduate orientation through ongoing clinical competency training.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement orientation, onboarding, and continuing education programs for nursing staff
- Assess competency and learning needs; tailor education to unit and individual requirements
- Facilitate skills labs, simulations, and hands-on training on clinical procedures and equipment
- Mentor new graduate nurses and support preceptor development
- Ensure staff compliance with mandatory education, certifications, and regulatory requirements
- Identify education gaps and partner with unit leadership on quality improvement
- Create and update policies, procedures, and educational materials based on evidence-based practice
- Lead training on new equipment, technology, and clinical protocols
- Maintain accurate documentation of staff education and competency records
- Serve as a clinical resource and subject matter expert across departments
Required Qualifications
- Active New York State RN license
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) minimum; Bachelor's Degree (BSN) preferred
- AHA BLS certification
- 2+ years of Med/Surg clinical nursing experience
- Strong presentation, curriculum development, and adult learning skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree (MSN)
- Nursing Professional Development Certification (NPD-BC)
- Prior precepting or education experience
