Registered Nurse – Cath Lab

Location: Lexington, KY

Schedule: First shift, 4×10 hours | Call required

Contract Duration: 18 weeks

About the Role

The facility is seeking an experienced RN for its busy cardiac catheterization lab. You'll provide direct patient care and monitoring for patients undergoing diagnostic angiograms, percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), stent placements, and device implants.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor vital signs and hemodynamic status throughout procedures; alert the team to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications, sedation, and contrast media per physician orders and protocol
• Assist physicians during procedures in both circulating and monitoring roles
• Prepare patients pre-procedure with education and post-procedure recovery care and discharge instructions
• Manage vascular access sites, including sheath removal and hemostasis per facility protocol
• Respond promptly to emergent complications (arrhythmias, hemorrhage, vasovagal reactions)
• Collaborate with cardiologists, cath lab technicians, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Document assessments, interventions, medications, and patient response accurately

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky (or compact license as applicable)
• BLS certification required; ACLS required
• Approximately 2 years of cath lab experience preferred
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
• RCIS certification preferred
• Ability to respond to on-call emergent cases
