Emergency Department Nurse – 13-Week Contract

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour nights)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

About the Role

The facility's Emergency Department is seeking an experienced RN to join a high-acuity, fast-paced team. You'll provide comprehensive emergency nursing care across a broad spectrum of patient presentations—from urgent care to trauma activations and critical codes.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform rapid and acuity assessments to prioritize patient care
• Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions per protocols
• Respond to trauma activations, codes, and acute deterioration
• Manage patients awaiting admission, transfer, or discharge
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on care plans
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in the EMR
• Maintain patient flow in a high-volume environment
• Support infection control, safety, and de-escalation protocols
• Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care

Requirements

• Active RN license (state or compact)
• Minimum 2+ years of nursing experience; at least 1+ year in emergency care
• Previous completion of one travel assignment required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification (AHA)
• TNCC preferred
• CEN preferred
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted
• Ability to work 48 hours per week as needed
• Any color scrubs

Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours biweekly
