Interventional Radiology Technologist

Location: Boston, MA

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: 10-hour days, 4 days per week (every other weekend required)

Start Date: September 21, 2026

About the Role

The facility's interventional radiology suite is seeking an experienced Radiology Technologist to support a high-volume program performing minimally invasive, image-guided procedures. You'll work alongside interventional radiologists managing complex cases including thrombectomies, embolizations, angiograms, biopsies, drain placements, and stent procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians during interventional procedures using fluoroscopy and angiography equipment
  • Prepare sterile fields, instruments, and supplies; manage equipment setup
  • Administer contrast media and monitor patients for adverse reactions
  • Monitor vital signs and hemodynamic status throughout procedures
  • Ensure radiation safety protocols and ALARA principles are followed
  • Document procedures and patient data accurately
  • Provide post-procedure care and site monitoring
  • Collaborate with the interventional team on procedural planning

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • ARRT certification in Radiography (R); Vascular-Interventional (VI) or Cardiovascular-Interventional (CI) certification required or preferred
  • State radiologic technology license
  • BLS and ACLS certification
  • 1+ years of IR experience
  • Training in neuro, CT, and IR with scrub and circulator experience
  • Ability to respond to emergent on-call cases

Preferred

  • Extensive thrombectomy device knowledge (PE/stroke)
  • Experience with advanced angio procedures (TIPS, angioplasty)

On-call and weekend coverage required. Orientation begins Mondays.
