Interventional Radiology Technologist
Location: Boston, MA
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 10-hour days, 4 days per week (every other weekend required)
Start Date: September 21, 2026
About the Role
The facility's interventional radiology suite is seeking an experienced Radiology Technologist to support a high-volume program performing minimally invasive, image-guided procedures. You'll work alongside interventional radiologists managing complex cases including thrombectomies, embolizations, angiograms, biopsies, drain placements, and stent procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist physicians during interventional procedures using fluoroscopy and angiography equipment
- Prepare sterile fields, instruments, and supplies; manage equipment setup
- Administer contrast media and monitor patients for adverse reactions
- Monitor vital signs and hemodynamic status throughout procedures
- Ensure radiation safety protocols and ALARA principles are followed
- Document procedures and patient data accurately
- Provide post-procedure care and site monitoring
- Collaborate with the interventional team on procedural planning
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- ARRT certification in Radiography (R); Vascular-Interventional (VI) or Cardiovascular-Interventional (CI) certification required or preferred
- State radiologic technology license
- BLS and ACLS certification
- 1+ years of IR experience
- Training in neuro, CT, and IR with scrub and circulator experience
- Ability to respond to emergent on-call cases
Preferred
- Extensive thrombectomy device knowledge (PE/stroke)
- Experience with advanced angio procedures (TIPS, angioplasty)
On-call and weekend coverage required. Orientation begins Mondays.
