Interventional Radiology Technologist
Location: Boston, MA
Shift: 10-hour days, 4 days per week
Schedule: Every other weekend required
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Start Date: September 21, 2026
About the Role
The facility's interventional radiology suite is seeking an experienced Radiology Technologist to assist with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures. You'll work alongside interventional radiologists performing angiograms, embolizations, thrombectomies, biopsies, drain placements, TIPS procedures, and stent placements.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate fluoroscopy and angiography equipment during procedures
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields, instruments, and supplies
- Administer contrast media and monitor patients for adverse reactions
- Monitor vital signs and hemodynamic status; alert the team to changes
- Ensure radiation safety and ALARA principles
- Document procedures accurately in the medical record
- Assist with post-procedure patient care and site management
- Collaborate with the interventional radiology team on procedural planning
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- ARRT Radiology (R) certification; Vascular-Interventional (VI) or Cardiovascular-Interventional (CI) preferred
- State radiologic technology license
- BLS and ACLS certification
- 1+ years of interventional radiology experience
- Training in neuro, CT, and IR with knowledge of thrombectomy devices
- Scrub and circulator experience
- Ability to respond to on-call and emergency cases
What to Know
On-call and weekend coverage are required. Orientation begins weekly (Mondays). Guaranteed 72 hours biweekly (excluding on-call time). Candidates who have worked at this facility within the last six months are not eligible.
