Interventional Radiology Technologist – 13-Week Contract

Location: Boston, MA

Shift: 10-hour days, 4 days per week (every other weekend required)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: September 21, 2026

About the Role

The facility's interventional radiology suite is seeking an experienced Radiology Technologist to support a high-volume IR program. You'll assist physicians during minimally invasive, image-guided procedures including angiograms, embolizations, thrombectomies, drain placements, stent placements, TIPS procedures, and angioplasties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate fluoroscopy and angiography equipment during procedures
  • Prepare sterile fields, instruments, and supplies
  • Assist with contrast administration and monitor for adverse reactions
  • Monitor patient vital signs and hemodynamic status throughout cases
  • Ensure radiation safety protocols and ALARA principles are followed
  • Document procedures and patient data accurately
  • Provide post-procedure patient care and site management
  • Collaborate with the IR team on procedural planning

Requirements

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • Certifications: ARRT certification in Radiography (R) required; Vascular-Interventional (VI) or Cardiovascular-Interventional (CI) certification required or preferred
  • License: State radiologic technology license
  • Additional: BLS and ACLS certification; 1+ years IR experience
  • Training: Must be trained in neuro, CT, and IR with advanced knowledge of thrombectomy devices
  • Scope: Scrub and circulator experience required
  • On-Call: Weekend and on-call coverage required; ability to respond to emergent cases

Contract Guarantee: 72 hours biweekly (excludes on-call time)

Orientation: Weekly, beginning Monday
