Interventional Radiology Technologist – 13-Week Contract
Location: Boston, MA
Shift: 10-hour days, 4 days per week (every other weekend required)
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Start Date: September 21, 2026
About the Role
The facility's interventional radiology suite is seeking an experienced Radiology Technologist to support a high-volume IR program. You'll assist physicians during minimally invasive, image-guided procedures including angiograms, embolizations, thrombectomies, drain placements, stent placements, TIPS procedures, and angioplasties.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate fluoroscopy and angiography equipment during procedures
- Prepare sterile fields, instruments, and supplies
- Assist with contrast administration and monitor for adverse reactions
- Monitor patient vital signs and hemodynamic status throughout cases
- Ensure radiation safety protocols and ALARA principles are followed
- Document procedures and patient data accurately
- Provide post-procedure patient care and site management
- Collaborate with the IR team on procedural planning
Requirements
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- Certifications: ARRT certification in Radiography (R) required; Vascular-Interventional (VI) or Cardiovascular-Interventional (CI) certification required or preferred
- License: State radiologic technology license
- Additional: BLS and ACLS certification; 1+ years IR experience
- Training: Must be trained in neuro, CT, and IR with advanced knowledge of thrombectomy devices
- Scope: Scrub and circulator experience required
- On-Call: Weekend and on-call coverage required; ability to respond to emergent cases
Contract Guarantee: 72 hours biweekly (excludes on-call time)
Orientation: Weekly, beginning Monday
