Interventional Radiology Technologist
Location: Boston, MA
Schedule: 10-hour days, 4 days per week | Every other weekend required | 13-week contract
About the Role
The facility's interventional radiology suite is seeking an experienced Radiology Technologist to support a high-volume program of minimally invasive, image-guided procedures. You'll work alongside interventional radiologists performing angiograms, embolizations, thrombectomies, drain placements, TIPS procedures, angioplasty, biopsies, and stent placements.
Your Responsibilities
- Operate fluoroscopy and angiography equipment during complex procedures
- Set up sterile fields, instruments, and supplies
- Administer contrast media and monitor patients for adverse reactions
- Monitor vital signs and hemodynamic status throughout procedures
- Ensure radiation safety protocols and ALARA principles
- Assist with post-procedure patient care and site management
- Document procedures and supplies accurately in the medical record
- Collaborate with the interventional radiology team on procedural planning
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- ARRT certification in Radiography (R); Vascular-Interventional (VI) or Cardiovascular-Interventional (CI) certification required or preferred
- State radiologic technology license
- BLS and ACLS certification
- 1+ years of interventional radiology experience
- Training in neuro and CT imaging
- Scrub and circulator experience
- Ability to respond to emergent on-call cases
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive thrombectomy device knowledge (PE/stroke)
- Experience with angioplasty and TIPS procedures
Contract Details
72 guaranteed hours biweekly (on-call time not included). Orientation begins weekly on Mondays. No float requirement. On-call and weekend coverage required.
