Occupational Therapist – Pediatric Feeding Specialist

About the Role

The facility is seeking an Occupational Therapist with specialized experience in pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders. You will evaluate and treat children with a wide range of diagnoses including feeding disorder, dysphagia, oral aversion, ARFID, failure to thrive, autism, developmental delay, and sensory processing difficulties. You'll have the opportunity to provide general pediatric developmental occupational therapy coverage as well.

Schedule & Contract

• Shift: 4 x 10-hour days, Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM (off Wednesdays)
• Duration: 20 weeks
• Start: ASAP
• Orientation: 1–2 weeks on-site
• Call Requirements: None; may call off based on patient volume

Requirements

• 1.5+ years of OT experience with pediatric feeding/eating difficulties (required); swallowing disorders preferred
• Experience working with patients 18 months and older (8 months and older preferred)
• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE-accredited program
• NBCOT certification
• BLS (American Heart Association)
• California OT license (or eligible; may use 60-day rule while obtaining CA license)
• Ability to independently evaluate and treat a full caseload
• Children's hospital experience preferred, not required

Core Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive feeding and swallowing assessments
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Provide therapeutic interventions for oral-motor, sensory, and behavioral feeding challenges
• Train patients and families on feeding techniques and adaptive strategies
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team
• Document evaluations and progress in compliance with facility standards
• May float within the hospital as needed

No on-call requirements. Free traveler parking. Any scrub color. Up to 6 days RTO may be approved. Must work 2 out of 3 holidays. First-time travelers welcome.
