Hospice Nurse – Night Shift
Location: Atlanta, GA
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Start Date: September 21, 2026
About the Role
The facility seeks an experienced Hospice RN to provide compassionate end-of-life care on the night shift. You'll support patients with terminal illness and their families, focusing on comfort, symptom management, and quality of life during this critical time.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and manage complex symptoms including pain, dyspnea, and agitation using comfort-focused medications
- Administer vasoactive drips and manage ventilator support as ordered
- Provide emotional, spiritual, and psychosocial support to patients and families
- Educate families on disease progression and what to expect during the dying process
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary hospice team (physicians, social workers, chaplains)
- Document care accurately and ensure compliance with hospice and Medicare guidelines
- Perform postmortem care with dignity and respect
- Support families through bereavement and coordinate care across settings
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in Georgia (or compact license)
- BLS certification at time of hire
- 1+ years of hospice or end-of-life care experience
- Demonstrated proficiency with ventilators and non-titratable vasoactive medications
- Experience with symptom management and comfort care
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy

A compassionate, experienced nurse comfortable with complex medication management and the emotional demands of hospice care. Night shift stability and ability to work independently are essential.
