Interventional Radiology Technologist
Location: Hendersonville, TN
Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday–Friday (9-hour shifts with 1 day off)
On-call rotation required for after-hours emergencies.
Contract Duration: 12 weeks | Guaranteed Hours: 36/week
About the Role
The facility's interventional radiology and catheterization lab suite performs a wide range of minimally invasive, image-guided procedures. You'll work in a 3-lab environment supporting left heart angiograms, percutaneous coronary interventions, pacemaker implants, port placements, drain insertions, AAA repairs, STEMI interventions, and more.
Your Responsibilities
- Assist physicians during interventional procedures, operating fluoroscopy and angiography equipment
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields, instruments, and supplies
- Administer contrast media and monitor patients for adverse reactions
- Monitor vital signs and hemodynamic status throughout procedures
- Ensure radiation safety protocols and ALARA principles
- Document procedures and patient data accurately
- Support post-procedure patient care and site management
- Collaborate with interventional radiologists and the care team
Staffing & Flexibility
Each procedure involves 1 scrub technologist, 1 circulating nurse, and 1 recording technologist or RN. Staff rotate across IR and EP (electrophysiology) as needed. Prior EP or IR experience is a bonus.
Required Qualifications
- ARRT certification in Radiography (R) with Vascular-Interventional (VI) or Cardiovascular-Interventional (CI) certification required
- State radiologic technology license (as applicable)
- Minimum 1 year of interventional radiology or catheterization lab experience
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Ability to respond to emergent/on-call cases
