Medical-Surgical RN | Nights | Chattanooga, TN

This is a 13-week night shift contract (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) on a newly established med-surg unit. The unit supports adult patients across a wide range of medical and surgical diagnoses, including pre- and post-operative care, chronic disease management (cardiac, respiratory, diabetes), and acute illness. PCT support is available on the unit.

Schedule & Logistics

• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Float requirement to facility med-surg as needed
• Dress code: Navy scrubs
• Start date: September 14, 2026

Clinical Scope

• Comprehensive nursing assessment, medication administration, and treatment delivery
• Pre- and post-op care including wound care and pain management
• Patient and family education on diagnoses, medications, and discharge planning
• Interdisciplinary collaboration with physicians, case managers, and care teams
• Infection control and fall prevention protocol adherence

Requirements

• Active RN license (state or applicable compact)
• Minimum 1 year of med-surg experience
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted
• CMSRN preferred
• Team-oriented, compassionate approach to patient care
